The Havanese is a small dog who
possess immense charm.  He is
slightly longer than tall, and covered
with tons of silky, wavy hair.  He is a
native of Cuba and has evolved over
the centuries into a lap-dog of the
aristocracy into what he is today, a
sweet and lovable family pet.

We live in a small rural town about 60 miles West of Chicago.  My family consists of my husband,
our 4 children whose ages are 3, 6, 10 and 14, our 5 Havanese, and 1 very large cat!
I was first drawn to the Havanese breed after being involved with
some rescue efforts.  Ironically enough, this was right at the time
that we had to put our family lab/retreiver mix down.  Because of
our young children we decided it was best to start off with a puppy
instead of a rescued Havanese.

Although, we don't currently show we firmly believe that it is
important to  keep with the breed standards for conformity, good
health and temperament.  The Havs we have are AKC registered,
show quality and have champion bloodlines.
Our Havs are our family's pets.  Our litters are whelped in our home, in my office.  As soon as
the pups are able to leave the whelping box, they join our other Havs (and the cat) with us in
the house.  We do not confine our pups to a small room or a crate, they join us in the kitchen,
living room, my office, and the laundry room.  They are constantly exposed to adults, children
and household noises.  They are given tons of love and attention from the whole family (yes,
we have to include the cat here too).  Weather permitting, the pups along with our adult dogs,
all love to play in our securely fenced-in back yard.

We become very attached to our pups and our goal is to place them in the best homes
possible.  On the flip side, we want to be sure that we are providing loving families with a
healthy pup who has a sound temperament.  The puppies we raise are ALWAYS welcome
back into our home.  We are here for them their entire life.  We do require references.

We can provide you with families to contact who have adopted with us and our vet if you wish
to check our references.
